Josh Novick

President

Josh is a 3rd year from Laurel Hollow, New York, double majoring in Commerce (Finance on a Real Estate Track) and Religious Studies. He joined VUREC in the fall of his first year and immediately aspired to get involved in all possible ways. For the past two summers, Josh has interned with Knotel and Centre Partners as an Investment Research Summer Analyst & Private Equity Summer Analyst, exploring the state and future of the office category accelerated by the COVID pandemic and learning more in-depth regarding 3PL e-commerce fulfillment, potential acquisitive investments for their portfolio companies, and the cold storage asset class. Outside of VUREC, Josh is also involved in the UVA Third Year Council, Inter-Fraternity Council, Madison House, Men’s Club Lacrosse, Credit & Restructuring Club, and TEDxUVA. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, running, spending time with friends and family, and reading historical nonfiction.

Ramses Perez

head of External affairs

Ramses Perez, a second-year student at the University of Virginia, joined VUREC in the fall. As a member of the Finance Academy and the Commerce Cohort, he explores various facets of business and finance. Also co-founder of BloomSpark Digital, an online advertising company, he has experience in marketing and entrepreneurship. Ramses hopes to major in finance with a track in real estate. Beyond academics, he expresses his creativity through music-making during his free time, as well as experimenting with culinary arts. 

Adarsh Shah

Head of Internal affairs

Adarsh is a 2nd year intending to attend the McIntire School of Commerce with the hopes of dual concentrating in Finance and Information Technology. He joined VUREC in the fall of his first year and has served as the prior Head of Operations. Adarsh is also active around grounds with multiple organizations such as the Virginia Venture Fund and his fraternity Phi Delta Theta. In his free time, Adarsh enjoys playing basketball, reading, and spending time with friends.

John Theodore

co-head of finance and events & promotion

John is a 2nd year from Lake Forest, Illinois pursuing a double major in Architecture and Economics. He joined VUREC in the fall of his second year. Last summer, he interned at Wingspan Development Group in Chicago. John is also a member of Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity at UVA. In his free time, he enjoys watching Chicago sports games, playing pickup basketball, and spending time with family and friends.

Liam Spears

co-head of Member Education

Liam is a 2nd year from Albuquerque, New Mexico planning on majoring in Commerce and minoring in Economics. He joined VUREC in the spring of his first year and currently serves as the Co-Head of Membership. This summer, Liam will be interning at Commonwealth Commercial Partners in Richmond, VA. Outside of VUREC, Liam is involved with the UVA Barbell Club as well as Madison House. In his free time, Liam enjoys lifting weights, playing soccer, and spending time with friends. 

William trukenbrod

Head of Programming

William is a 3rd year at the University of Virginia, hoping to pursue a degree in Economics with minors in Data Analytics and Entrepreneurship. This upcoming summer, he will be working in Private Credit at LBC Credit Partners outside of Philadelphia. He joined VUREC in the Spring of 2022 and currently serves as the Head of Programming. He is in charge of finding, planning and organizing our speaker series events throughout the semester! William’s other extracurricular activities include being the treasurer of UVA’s club hockey team and coaching youth basketball. In his free time, William enjoys exercising, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family

Lily Bernstein

co-head of operations

Lily is a 2rd year at the University of Virginia, hoping to pursue a major in Commerce or Media Studies with a minor in Real Estate. She joined VUREC in the fall of 2023 and currently serves as the Co-Head of Operations. In her role, she facilitates club communications and operates the VUREC website. Outside of VUREC Lily is also the Advancement Intern at Madison House and a member of the Brody Jewish Center. In her free time, Lily enjoys spending time with friends and family, exercising, and cooking.

Jack Nagle

CO-head OF OPERATIONS

Jack is a second-year student from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and joined VUREC last fall. He intends to major in commerce with a concentration in finance. He currently is one of the Co-Head of Operations along with Lily, where they oversee and manage all operations of the club. Outside of VUREC, Jack co-founded an organization at UVA called the Virginia Alzheimer’s Alliance which is dedicated to pairing students with Alzheimer’s patients at local nursing homes. In his free time, Jack enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Brooke Davi

Head of Alumni Relations

Brooke is a 3rd year from Amityville, New York majoring in Commerce with a concentration in finance on the real estate track. She joined VUREC in the fall of her second year and currently serves as the VP of Membership. Two summers ago, Brooke interned at Silverstein Properties in Manhattan. Outside of VUREC, she is involved in the Farmlink Project, UVA Sailing, McIntire Ambassadors, Delta Sigma Pi, and Scholars of Finance. In her free time, Brooke enjoys surfing, playing guitar, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Tomas Cushman

co-head of finance and events & promotion

Tomas is a 2nd year student in the College of Arts and Sciences hoping to pursue a degree in history or commerce, with a minor in real estate. He joined VUREC in the fall of his first year and has previously served as Vice President of Finance. Tomas is also an active member of the University Judiciary Committee as a counselor and the Outdoors Club as a member. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and sailing.

Max Rudikoff

co-head of Member education

Max Rudikoff, a second-year student at the University of Virginia, joined VUREC his first semester. As a Coverage Director in the Alternative Investment Fund, he enjoys finance and investing in businesses. Also as a volunteer for The Haven and Mapping Cville, a homeless shelter and zoning database, he is passionate about affordable housing. Max hopes to major in finance with a track in real estate. Outside of the classroom, he loves to play poker and to listen to house music.
